ANNUAL MEETING

This reminder that the 2016 Annual Meeting of the membership of the KHSAA is to be held on Wednesday, September 14 in the Bluegrass Ballroom on the third floor at the Lexington Center (High Street level, adjacent to the concourse of Rupp Arena). A final agenda will be published in the coming days, but the meeting is expected to begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. ET. and conclude not later than 1:00 p.m. Details and requirements for the Annual Meeting Delegate are summarized below. To submit the name of your delegate, go to http://khsaa.org/ge38-annual-meeting-delegate-designation/

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR INSTITUTE

The first KHSAA Athletic Director Institute will be held at the KHSAA offices in Lexington on Tuesday, September 13. Designed for those ADs with five or fewer years of experience, this meeting will begin with registration around 9:30, conclude before 4:00 and afford our newer ADs an in-depth review of all 27 KHSAA Bylaws, a review of required forms and procedures and other vital segments to allow for continuous improvement. Though it is not restricted in terms of attendance, many veteran ADs may find the content redundant. The meeting is being held so that those with travel concerns can come for the meeting on the 13th, stay in the Lexington area that night, and attend the Annual Meeting the next morning. Lunch will be provided to attendees. To register, go to http://khsaa.org/ge47-2016-2017-athletic-administrators-institute/.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THESE ARE SEPARATE MEETINGS WITH SEPARATE REGISTRATION FORMS

ANNUAL MEETING DELEGATE DESIGNATION

The Annual Meeting has continuous improvement/leadership training opportunities throughout the morning as members work to carve out the best plan of action for the future and then the meeting concludes as delegates convene to approve or disapprove the proposed KHSAA Constitution and Bylaw changes.

The staff and Board of Control again hope that 100% of the member schools plan on attending this important meeting. As always, continuous improvement opportunities (per Bylaw 25), relevant exhibitors and lively discussion of the future of high school athletics in our state will be just a few things that will highlight the day.

At this time, we need each school to formally designate the Delegate for your school to vote during the business session. The delegate must be someone from your school, but is not restricted to the Principal and/or Athletic Director or any specific academic or educational background. This important meeting allows your school a vote and voice in the operations of the Association. Please note that the delegate is simply the person who will be attending and voting, please do not confuse this with the Principal or Designated Representative as detailed in Bylaw 1.

Final information on the meeting, including proposals and hotel information, will be distributed electronically as in the past via the KHSAA website, http://khsaa.org/general/annual-meeting-information/, and sent via electronic mail in the coming days.
