10/31/18 – Cross Country and Soccer State Champions Decided This Weekend

Eight state championship trophies will be awarded this weekend in Lexington with the 2018 KHSAA Cross Country State Meet taking place at the Kentucky Horse Park and the culmination of the KHSAA State Soccer Tournament sponsored by the U.S. ARMY ROTC at Frederick Douglass HS. The 2018 KHSAA Cross Country Championships begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with the Class 1A Boys’ race, followed by the Class 1A Girls at 10:15 a.m. The Class 2A meet is scheduled to begin with the boys at 11:30 a.m., with the Class 3A meet slated to start at 1:30 p.m. A full state meet schedule is available at http://khsaa.org/cross_country/2018/statemeettimetable.pdf

The 2018 KHSAA State Soccer Tournament sponsored by the U.S. ARMY ROTC continues Wednesday evening with girls’ semifinal action at Frederick Douglass HS, as West Jessamine takes on Sacred Heart at 6 p.m., followed by Bethlehem versus Highlands at 8 p.m. The boys’ semis will take place Thursday night, starting with Henry Clay squaring off against St. Xavier at 6 p.m., and Hopkinsville facing Highlands at 8 p.m. The State Soccer Tournament concludes Saturday evening at Frederick Douglass HS, with the girls’ and boys’ finals at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.

KHSAA.tv will produce live webcasts of the semifinals and finals of the State Soccer Tournament. A highlight package of the 2018 KHSAA Cross Country State Meet will be available at KHSAA.tv following the event. Live stats for each soccer match and live cross country race results will be available at KHSAA.org.

All KHSAA video webcasts will be a part of the NFHS Network (http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/), with links available at KHSAA.tv. Subscription plans for the NFHS Network are available for $9.95 a month. A monthly subscription, priced less than the cost of admission to a state championship event, entitles users to every broadcast by the KHSAA and the more than 40 participating state associations.

About the Kentucky High School Athletic Association
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association was organized in 1917 and is the agency designated by the Kentucky Department of Education to manage high school athletics in the Commonwealth.
