THANK YOU FOR GIVING OF YOUR TIME AND TALENTS!

PLEASE CONTACT JENNY OR KARA BY TUESDAY MORNING IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO WORK ONE OR MORE GAMES OF THE STATE FOOTBALL FINALS.

Thanks to all of you who we have talked with throughout the fall about working! If you have issues contact Jenny Elder (jelder@khsaa.org or 859-221-1203), Kara Howard (khoward@khsaa.org or 502-682-7564) Julian Tackett (jtackett@khsaa.org or 859-229-3916) or Butch Cope (bcope@khsaa.org or 859-351-1833).

Please let us know by Tuesday, November 21 if you are unable to work by contacting Jenny or Kara. We appreciate that as we would need as much time as possible to move things around if someone is unavailable. If you would, you can simply send a text to Jenny confirming that you are working or if you have issues if that works quicker for you. It is important if at all possible that you be available for all games to ensure the best experience for the participants. So please advise of conflicts and if there are multiple conflicts, we may just need to find another person for your spot.

Any additional written communication will come from Jenny and Kara Howard, who form our event services team. Mr. Tackett and Mr. Cope will be your primary on-site contacts for this event. The preliminary worker’s list for the finals workers is online at CLICK HERE FOR THE LIST where you can verify your assignment. Please review the information on the attachment to be sure we are sending the communications team at UK the correct phone and email for wireless access.

We appreciate your flexibility to work again this year in whatever role in which you are able to work. AGAIN, PLEASE CONTACT JENNY IMMEDIATELY IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND ONE OR MORE GAMES.

The detailed information below should answer any questions you have, but as always, feel free to reach out for anything else. This is being sent to everyone via email. And it is also being sent via text for people like Fred and Kenney who don’t like email.

Housing

  • Though the vast majority of our workers are commuting each day, please advise Jenny or Kara by Tuesday of any housing needs you may have.
  • They can then respond with your housing assignment.
  • Initially, housing is planned to pattern after 2022 with the exception of Mr. Fulkerson who is helping for the first time this year.

Game Schedule

  • Friday, December 1, 12 p.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Saturday, December 2, 12 p.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. All times are ET.

Parking

  • Workers should park in the Green Lot on the Cooper Drive side of the stadium if you are working field level, or the Blue Lot on the Alumni Drive if your assignment is in the Press Box.
  • No parking pass is necessary as your credential is valid for parking and given your arrival time, you will likely not be challenged.
  • If you encounter parking control, tell the attendant that you are picking up will-call credentials.
  • From the Green Lot, you will need to walk around the stadium to the Alumni Drive side to pick up your credentials as check-in is inside the Commonwealth Tower Lobby between Gates 9 and 11 if you have not already received your season-long credential or need a single event credential.

Report Time and Credentials

  • The Commonwealth Tower Lobby (CTL) on the South/Alumni Drive side opens at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday for field worker credentials, information and meal ticket pickup.
  • We will need you to check in each day to verify compensation and to pick up meal tickets.
  • Field workers are asked to arrive by 8:30 a.m. on both days to help with setup as needed (which is only ninety minutes prior to team arrival), while the rest of the workers are asked to arrive by 9:30 a.m. and report to the same location
  • Those of you with season-long credentials may use those for admittance. Others will be given credentials when you report.
  • Ms. Jenne DeAngelis will coordinate arrival times for the UK Sports Med trainers and Mr. Cope has coordinated arrival times for those involved with khsaa.tv.

Setup

  • For those who have volunteered to help with set up on Thursday, our staff will report to the stadium around 11 a.m.
  • If you are coming to help on Thursday, please let us know so that we can help with parking problems.
  • If you do happen to get a ticket, please share that with Jenny, Kara, Julian or Butch and UK athletics staff will intercede.

Food tickets

  • Will be available each day at the check-in table inside the CTL.
  • You should get two meal vouchers each day that are to be used at most concession stands for a value of $10 (they will not issue change).
  • There is no hospitality room.

Dress

  • Bring everything you need for whatever weather eventuality occurs for the weekend.
