The Kentucky High School Athletic Association shall sponsor separate postseason competitions in boys’ and girls’ sports, provided that there is sufficient interest among the membership and such is approved by the Board of Control. The Commissioner shall divide the state into geographic sections with the approval of the Board of Control.
The alignment shall be reviewed for changes to be effective with the following school year after the completion of each season, and for changes to be effective with the following school year following the January Board of Control meeting each year, when requests for potential basketball alignment changes are considered.
In the interim, newly added or deleted programs will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the Commissioners’ office.
As of June 1, 2025, the alignment is as follows (with manual notations to be made during the transition to the KHSAA360/ArbiterSports system):
