The 2025-2026 KHSAA Girls’ Bowling State Championships presented by UK HealthCare concluded at Kingpin Lanes in Louisville on Tuesday. Pleasure Ridge Park won the girls’ team title and Peyton Ramey of Boyle County captured the girls’ singles crown.

01/16/26 – Winter Media Credential Applications Now Open

The KHSAA’s online media credentialing system for winter state championships (swimming & diving, bowling, wrestling, indoor track & field) is now live and can be accessed via credentials.khsaa.org.
Credentials to each KHSAA state championship event are issued by the KHSAA to working members of the media who regularly cover high school athletics. Credentials must be requested through the online credentialing system prior to the established deadline for each sport.
Credentials should be requested by the sports editor/director for all members of their organization needing to attend an event. Credentials for freelance photographers and stringers must be requested by the sports editor/director at the outlet the freelancer will be representing. Media outlets are responsible for the actions of all individuals representing their organization, including compliance with KHSAA policies and procedures. No credentials will be issued outside of the online credentialing system. The KHSAA reserves the right to limit the number […]
1/8/26 – 2026 Regional Bowling Tournament Entry Process
In preparation for the 2026 Regional Bowling Tournaments, KHSAA would like to remind member schools of the postseason entry process.
Each participating school must designate its postseason bowling roster through the school’s Arbiter page prior to the regional tournament. This roster is separate from the regular-season varsity roster and should be completed by the bowling head coach or Athletic Director. Postseason roster information is used for regional planning as well as advanced preparation for state-qualifying teams and individuals. Student-athletes must be listed on the postseason roster in order to compete in the postseason.

Once the postseason roster is submitted, coaches may enter regional participants using Form BW 110. This online form is now open and accepts entries for:

Regional bowling will take place from January 19 to February 3. The KHSAA State Bowling Tournament is scheduled for February 9–11 at Kingpin Lanes in Jeffersontown.

The nomination process for the Midway University/KHSAA Male and Female Student Athlete-of-the-Year among Bowling participants for 2025-2026 is now open.This award is based on athletic and academic achievement as well as community service and leadership. The link to the application contains additional criteria and a form to nominate one participant from each 2025-2026 team. Nominations must come from a member school, but can be submitted by an administrator, guidance counselor, or coach. The winner will be announced early in the postseason and recognized at an awards event at Midway University in early summer 2026. The required KHSAA Bowling Online Rules Clinic is now available through your Arbitersports Eligibility Dashboard.
The clinic is required for all coaches (varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen), regardless of whether or not the coach receives pay.
If you have yet to log into the KHSAA360 (Arbitersports.com) system prior to receiving this email, you will need to set your password on the arbitersports.com login screen (select “Forgot Password”).

06/03/25 – Myers, Harper Named 2024-25 Midway/KHSAA Student-Athletes of the Year
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JUNE 3, 2025
The 2024-25 Midway University/KHSAA Student-Athlete of the Year awards program culminated on Tuesday at Midway University, as Madelyn Myers of Murray (Tennis) and Grant Harper of Barren County (Swimming & Diving) were recognized as the overall Student-Athletes of the Year.
Beginning in May 2016, Midway has presented a Female Student-Athlete of the Year award at each KHSAA girls’ state championship event. The awards program was expanded in 2019-20 to include male student-athletes, with Midway honoring a deserving student-athlete in each KHSAA sport and sport-activity.
The awards are based on athletic and academic achievement, as well as community service and leadership, with Midway choosing one overall Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year each academic year. School administrators, coaches and athletic directors nominate student-athletes, and the nominees are voted upon by a closed panel consisting of representatives from Midway.

2/10/25 – Girls’ Team, Singles, and Unified/Adapted Bowling State Championships Rescheduled
Due to the now strong likelihood of inclement weather, multiple school closures, and potentially hazardous traveling conditions regarding the timing of Tuesday’s likely snow storms in Louisville and other areas with significant accumulation forecast, there have been adjustments to the remaining schedule for the KHSAA Bowling State Championships.
The Girls’ Bowling Team and Singles State Championships that were originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11, have been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 26. The Unified and Adapted Bowling State Championships that were originally scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 12, have been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25.
A revised time schedule for both days will be posted as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience, but with anticipated road conditions for the next two days, the safety of all participants, coaches and fans is the top priority.
02/07/25 – Winter State Championships to Continue with Swimming & Diving, Bowling

The 2024-25 winter slate of state championships is set to continue with the first events of the calendar year, beginning with the first round of the 2025 KHSAA Swimming & Diving State Championships presented by UK HealthCare on Saturday and followed by the first session of the 2025 KHSAA Bowling State Championships presented by UK HealthCare on Monday.
The state first round of swimming competition will take place across three different sites for the second consecutive season, with swimmers from Regions 1-3 competing at Bowling Green, swimmers from Regions 4-6 competing at the University of Louisville and swimmers from Regions 7-9 competing at Scott.

01/13/25 – Regional Bowling Entries
In preparation for the 2025 Regional Bowling tournaments, the KHSAA wanted to remind member schools of the entry process. The bowling head coach or Athletic Director for each participating member school should designate student-athletes to its postseason bowling roster. The postseason roster should be entered through the school’s Arbitor page prior to the region tournament to assist with planning. Schools must log into their Arbitor page and designate their postseason roster, which is separate from the regular-season varsity roster. As part of its annual awards program, the National Federation of State High School Associations Coaches Association recognizes Coach of the Year honorees from each state. 10/01/24 – KHSAA Combined Participation Tops 115,000 for First Time in 2023-24

More than 115,000 participants occupied roster spots in KHSAA sports and sport-activities in the 2023-24 school year, marking an all-time record and an increase of more than 5% from the previous year.
A total of 115,608 participants were on rosters for Kentucky high school competition in 2023-24, which is up 5,792 from the previous record of 109,816 set in 2022-23. The latest total includes 63,694 boys and 51,914 girls, a record high for both genders and the first time that girls’ participation has exceeded 50,000.
The 115,608 roster spots were comprised of 86,357 individuals, including 46,635 boys and 39,722 girls.
The 2023-24 total marks a third consecutive increase across KHSAA member schools after numbers briefly declined during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the NFHS High School Athletics Participation Survey, national participation eclipsed the 8-million mark for the first time last school year.

06/04/24 – Thurmond, Germann Named 2023-24 Midway/KHSAA Student-Athletes of the Year

The 2023-24 Midway University/KHSAA Student-Athlete of the Year awards program culminated Tuesday on the campus of Midway University, as Carlie Thurmond of Bethlehem (Soccer) and Max Germann of Boyle County (Track & Field) were recognized as the overall Student-Athletes of the Year.
Beginning in May 2016, Midway has presented a Female Student-Athlete of the Year award at each KHSAA girls’ state championship event. The awards program was expanded in 2019-20 to include male student-athletes, with Midway honoring a deserving student-athlete in each KHSAA sport and sport-activity.
The awards are based on athletic and academic achievement, as well as community service and leadership, with Midway choosing one overall Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year each academic year. School administrators, coaches and athletic directors nominate student-athletes, and the nominees are voted upon by a closed panel consisting of representatives from Midway.

02/01/24 – Bowling State Championships Return to Jeffersontown Next Week
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FEB. 1, 2024
Championship season will officially kick off this calendar year with the 2024 KHSAA Bowling State Championships presented by UK HealthCare next week in Jeffersontown, taking place Feb. 5-7 at Kingpin Lanes.
The three-day event will start with girls’ team competition during Monday’s opening session at 8 a.m. ET, followed by girls’ singles play in the afternoon session at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday’s schedule will mirror Monday’s, with the boys’ team division beginning at 8 a.m. and boys’ singles slated for 2:30 p.m.
The final trophies will be awarded on Wednesday, as both unified and adapted competition will commence at 11 a.m.

1/30/24 – State Bowling Lane Assignments and Roster By School Posted
The roster by school for the 2024 KHSAA State Bowling Tournament is now available for review on the KHSAA website. The roster listing includes unified & adapted participants and can be found through the links below.
Each school should review its student-athletes and let us know immediately of any necessary changes (i.e. misspelling of names) by emailing us at bwresults@khsaa.org. It is important that you send corrections to bwresults@khsaa.org to ensure all parties are aware of the changes.
The deadline for these changes is Wednesday, January 31 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
