As you plan for spring events in 2025, we would like to remind schools about the postseason dates for spring sports. Please ensure that all parties involved in planning graduation dates, spring activities, etc., are aware of the postseason dates, which should help fans, coaches, and administrators avoid scheduling conflicts.

ESPORTS

• Esports playoffs began on April 14
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: First Round Begins April 17
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate:  First Round Began April 14
  • Splatoon 3: First Round Begins April 18
  • Madden NFL 25: First Round Begins April 22
  • NBA 2K25: First Round Begins April 18
  • League of Legends: First Round Begins April 23
  • Rocket League: First Round Begins April 17
• Spring Esports In-Person State Championships: May 1
  • State Finals will be held at the UKFCU Esports Lounge located in the Cornerstone, on the campus of the University of Kentucky.

BASS FISHING

• Regional Tournaments: April 26
• State Championships: May 9 – 10 
  • State Bass Fishing will be held on Lake Cumberland in Jamestown, KY.

LACROSSE

• Regional Tournament: May 9 – 12
  • May begin early by mutual agreement within the regions
• State First Round and Quarterfinals: May 14 – 17
  • State First Round will be May 14, unless mutually agreed by both teams for May 15
  • State Second Round will be May 16, unless mutually agreed by both teams for May 17
  • May begin early by mutual agreement within the regions
• Semifinals: May 19
  • Semifinals for both boys’ and girls’ lacrosse will be held at Shelby County and Collins High Schools.
• Finals: May 21
  • Finals for both boys’ and girls’ lacrosse will be held at Collins High School.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

• State First Round and Quarterfinals: May 14 – 17
  • State First Round will be May 14, unless mutually agreed by both teams for May 15
  • State Second Round will be May 16, unless mutually agreed by both teams for May 17
  • May begin early by mutual agreement within the regions
• Semifinals & Finals: May 20
  • Semifinal and final rounds will be held at George Rogers Clark High School

TRACK & FIELD

• Region Meets: May 5 – May 21
• State Meet: May 29 (Class 1A), May 30 (Class 2A) and May 31 (Class 3A)
  • The State Meet will return to the University of Kentucky

TENNIS

• Region Tournaments: May 5 – May 21
• State Individual/Doubles Tournaments: May 27 – May 29
• State Team Tennis: June 3 – 4 
  • The State events will be held at the University of Kentucky and multiple sites in Fayette County.

SOFTBALL AND BASEBALL

• District Tournaments: May 19 – 24
• Region Tournaments: May 26 – 31 
  • *Local discretion on scheduling, all regions must be complete by May 31.
• State First Round & Quarterfinals: June 5 – 7
• State Semifinals and Finals: June 13 – 14 
  • State Softball will be held at John Cropp Stadium at the University of Kentucky. 
  • State Baseball will be held at Kentucky Proud Park at the University of Kentucky.

About the Kentucky High School Athletic Association

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association was organized in 1917 and is the agency designated by the Kentucky Department of Education to manage high school athletics in the Commonwealth. The Association is a voluntary nonprofit 501(c)3 organization made up of 289 member schools, both public and non-public. The KHSAA awards 229 state championships to 72 teams and 270 individuals in 21 sports and sport-activities, funds catastrophic insurance coverage for its more than 109,000 rostered member school student-athletes, provides coaching education and sports safety programs for more than 12,000 coaches and licenses and facilitates the distribution of training material for over 4,000 contest officials.
