The following is a review of the items discussed at the March Special KHSAA Board of Control Meeting called by President Bill Beasley and the status of those issues. The Board meets six times per year, and each time, the membership will be updated as far as actions by the Board. While many of them attempt to communicate with you on a regular basis, I also want the schools informed of a consistent summary. SPECIAL BOARD MEETING – March 20, 2014

The Board of Control held a special meeting on March 20 in the Thoroughbred Room of the Lexington Center. During that meeting, the following items were discussed and acted on:

• The Board ratified the minutes and actions of a conference call on March 7 wherein it empowered the Commissioner to appeal a Court of Appeals ruling to the Kentucky Supreme Court if the Association does not prevail.
• Adopted Select Sport at the official ball for KHSAA soccer postseason play;
• Adopted Baden as the official ball for KHSAA volleyball postseason play;
• Adopted the draft enrollment listing and alignment parameters for football 2015-2018 realignment, including the decisions regarding playing up (and opting down to balance classes), and directed staff to bring back a draft alignment to the April meeting.
