August 10, 2016 Athletic Department Blog Updates

This reminder is for all member school Superintendents, Principals and Athletic Directors within the KHSAA.

For the fall of 2016, the KHSAA is again scheduling an Athletic Administrator Workshop in eight areas of the state. The content for this non-mandatory workshop will include instructional sessions on managing the coach and player data for your school, an update on the operations and projects around the KHSAA and many elements related to Title IX and those required reports and functions. These sessions will begin with check-in at 8 a.m. and continue through 12:30 p.m. This schedule continues to allow for the host school to easily accommodate the end of the school day, and the attendees to get on the road and back to their schools.

A final schedule for each day will be sent to all registered attendees. This session would be invaluable for all Principals and ADs as they familiarize or re-familiarize themselves with the Bylaws and tournament rules, online operations and changes, and Title IX parameters. We will be offering assistance with KHSAA rules and answering questions concerning paperwork, forms, requirements, etc., to help keep the communication lines between this office and our member schools open and informative.

The first of these workshops will be held on Wednesday, August 22 at the KHSAA offices in Lexington. A complete schedule is listed below. We hope you plan on attending or sending an administrator from your school to participate. This workshop is NOT required but attendance at this meeting does fulfill the Principal meeting requirement and counts toward the new requirements for athletic dirctors. Staff will again work hard to make this content-filled meeting worthwhile for all that attend and will be posting EILA credit to those who attend.

You will need to be logged in to the school subdomain (school login system) to complete the form and one person per form is the limit. It is important that you register in advance so that we may be better prepared for your arrival.

The KHSAA is using a new meeting sign-up system utilizing Google Forms. If for some reason, the form is not visible to you as a logged in school subdomain user, please contact Rob Catron at the KHSAA (rcatron@khsaa.org) for assistance.
