12/12/17-Schools Requested to Submit Form GE81 for Future Offerings

Every three years, per adopted policy, the KHSAA surveys the membership as to the desire to expand and/or continue sports and sport-activity offerings.  In this manner, the staff and Board of Control can continue to be pro-active in terms of offering new opportunities and assess the satisfaction of its membership with the current offerings.

Please complete the required survey at https://schools.khsaa.org/ge81-khsaa-triennial-sports-offering-survey-2017-2018/ on or before Friday, January 5, 2018, to assist in the determination of future offerings by the Association. This survey will help determine the sports or sport-activities offered by the Association in which your school would likely participate if the KHSAA were to begin or continue sponsoring championship play. 

You will need to be logged in to the KHSAA school subdomain to complete the survey and should be requested to login by clicking on the link. To access the survey, click the link in the email or blog post, or login to the school system at https://schools.khsaa.org/, and click on KHSAA Forms and Reports, General Forms, and select form GE81.

Please also use the last question as an unofficial effort to make staff aware of any program expansion so that you may be contacted about alignment, etc.

The Board of Control adopted policy states that the Board will CONSIDER sponsoring a championship in a sport in which 50 of the members desire for a championship to be conducted, and when those schools are in at least three of the geographically bounded basketball regions. There is no guarantee of the sanctioning and championship play, but that threshold does allow for discussion.

This is not binding and there are no sanctions any school would face by “changing its mind” after submitting the survey. We also realize that other factors would be considered before final implementation.
