02/20/25 – Updated Time Schedule for State Swimming & Diving Finals
The KHSAA staff has worked with the University of Kentucky and our lead meet officials to adjust the time schedule for the 2025 KHSAA State Swimming & Diving Finals presented by UK HealthCare.
All girls’ swimming and diving events will now take place on Friday, February 21, and all boys’ swimming and diving events on Saturday, February 22. Adjustments were made to the time schedule to ensure that athletes are not swimming earlier than originally scheduled on Friday or Saturday than the original schedule.
The girls’ and boys’ swimming prelims have no changes to the time schedule between events. Be advised that the gender-specific diving competition has been adjusted to fit between the swimming prelims and finals, which did alter the swimming finals start times to a slightly later time. While this may result in facility attendance issues, we believe that in the end, the schedule adjustments will work to accommodate all involved.
An updated […]

With the threat of potential inclement weather forecasted across the state this weekend, it was necessary to adjust the format and site schedule for the 2025 KHSAA Swimming & Diving State Championships at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington.

The Diving Championships that were originally scheduled for Thursday, February 20, have been postponed, and KHSAA staff is working to adjust the time schedules to incorporate the gender-specific diving competition within the original scheduled times. Participating schools can plan all girls’ diving and swimming events on Friday, February 21, and all boys’ diving and swimming events on Saturday, February 22.
A revised time schedule for Friday and Saturday and additional information will be posted as soon as possible and additional notification is forthcoming. We apologize for the inconvenience, but with anticipated road conditions for the […]

All recommended changes were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors and take effect with the 2025 high school field hockey season.
In Rule 1-6-5 regarding face protection, the rules committee approved the option for players to wear a wire-caged face mask during a penalty corner. The new face protection language in Rule 1-6-5 reads as follows:
“A wire-caged face mask that is smooth and rounded may be worn for defending penalty corners. Players shall remove the wire-caged mask at the completion of the penalty corner. If no suitable opportunity to remove the mask arises, they may continue to wear it within the 25-yard […]

The Football Rules Committee is composed of one member from each NFHS member state association that uses NFHS playing rules, along with representatives from the NFHS Coaches Association and NFHS Officials Association.
One of the equipment changes next year will permit some additional electronic communication with players during games; however, in-helmet communication is still not allowed. INDIANAPOLIS – Multiple contacts by one player attempting to play the ball will now be allowed on second contact if the next contact is by a teammate on the same side of the net. This elimination of a judgment call by officials highlights the 2025-26 high school volleyball rules changes.
In all, six rules changes were recommended by the NFHS Volleyball Rules Committee at its annual meeting last January. All rules changes were reviewed and approved by the NFHS Board of Directors.
Rule 9-4-8c was added to the section on multiple contacts, adding second contact to the list of permitted instances, joining a team’s first contact and after a player touches the ball on a block.
