07/15/14 – Pre Season Reminders for Soccer

The 2014 season officially began July 15 with the start of preseason practice, that means we are receiving some questions in the office about certain items. Below is just a short checklist of things to keep in mind as you go forward.

• The Soccer Rules Clinic will again be online and open for you to take beginning August 4th. Please make sure you and your assistant coaches take the online course.
• Check with your Athletic Director to make sure you and your staff are up to date with the Sports Safety Course.
• The first date for Regular season competition is August 18th.
• Please note the host site specifications for postseason play in soccer. The approved document establishes separate guidelines for host sites at the district and region/semi-state level. The specifications are listed at. http://khsaa.org/soccer/soccersitespecifications.pdf
• Regular season field specifications including field markings are found in the NFHS rule book and are posted online at http://www.nfhs.org/Soccer/.
• Those of you adding 7th and 8th graders to your roster, remember they can only play on your Freshman or Junior Varsity squad and can not compete against players in the 11th or 12th grade.
