09/23/25- Nominations Sought For Midway Football Student Athlete-of-the-Year Awards
The KHSAA is excited to open the nomination process for the Midway University/KHSAA Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year among Football participants for 2025-2026.
This award is based on athletic and academic achievement as well as community service and leadership. The link to the application contains additional criteria and a form to nominate one participant from each 2025-2026 team. Nominations must come from a member school, but can be submitted by an administrator, guidance counselor, or coach. Nominations may only be submitted online at https://khsaa.org/ge35-midway-university-khsaa-student-athlete-of-the-year-nomination-form/
The winner will be announced early in the postseason, and current plans call for the winners to be recognized at an awards banquet at Midway University in early summer 2026. From the winners selected for each KHSAA championship, one student-athlete will be selected as the 2025-2026 Midway University/KHSAA Student-Athlete-of-the-Year and announced at the banquet. 09/04/25 – Reminder about Shortened and Interrupted Football Games
After being blessed with fantastic weather for the first two playing weeks, the forecast for this weekend leads to again issuing this reminder around football contests. This is particularly important given the vast amount of turnover in athletic administrators and coaches; a reminder about the Competition Rules is in order for Football. Interrupted games are not new and have a defined procedure for football, which has not changed in several years.
Within the NFHS football playing rules, in an emergency (such as inclement weather where advisories are placed against travel or to seek shelter), teams can mutually agree to shorten any remaining period or terminate the game at any point after the game has begun. If such termination is mutually agreed to, the game shall be recorded as the current score, and the game cannot be replaced on the schedule.

Pursuant to KRS 61.826(2), Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) Board of Control President Greg Howard has called a special meeting of the Board of Control for Tuesday morning, September 2, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
- The agenda for the meeting is a single item, the consideration of the final proposal(s) to be considered by the Annual Meeting of the membership on September 18.

As was mentioned at the recently concluded Regional Meetings, the KHSAA will again conduct two Title IX Webinars for 2025-26 on September 11th and 12th. These will be conducted via Zoom to afford the membership more opportunities to appear.

COACHES
- Coaches should look for the 25-26 Eligibility tab labeled 2025-26 Football and clearly labeled Coaching at https://app.arbitersports.com/eligibility/coach
- The clinic is required for all coaches (varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen), regardless of whether or not the coach receives pay.

6/12/2025- Baseball / Softball Championship Game Times Changed
Championship game times for both softball and baseball on Saturday have been revised due to forecasted weather conditions and the now-strong likelihood of significant impact on Saturday evening.
The Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Softball State Championship game, presented by UK HealthCare, will now begin at 12 p.m. (ET), and the Clark’s Pump-N-Shop State Baseball Championship game, presented by UK HealthCare, will now begin at 1 p.m. (ET).
There are no changes to Friday’s schedule at this time; however, all involved should be prepared for adjustments due to weather..

(3) Schools enrolling 401-610 students in grades 9-12 shall pay $1500;

2025 Clarks Pump-N-Shop State Outdoor Track & Field Meet Coach Pass Allocation
The KHSAA rosters and coaches lists were required to be submitted through KHSAA360 (using the ArbiterSports platform managed by the school AD) prior to the entry deadline, and no further additions/corrections can be made. This list has been prepared so member schools can plan accordingly.
As we do in other KHSAA state events, coaches will have the option to purchase additional coach passes via the ticketing staff at the pass pickup location, and receipts can be provided. Only credit cards will be accepted, and the coach must still be listed in Arbiter for the member school in order to purchase.
Passes were allocated based on the following criteria:
- Coaches meeting Bylaw 25 KHSAA Coaching Requirements shall receive a wristband based on team qualifiers (genders combined).
- One to two (1-2) qualifier(s) affords a maximum of two (2) complimentary admissions;
- Three to six (3-6) qualifiers afford a maximum of three (3) complimentary admissions;
